Taking us right back to childhood, the new Premiere Winston Candy reminds us of the joy of being a kid in a candy store.

For children the world over, a trip to the candy store is always an absolute delight as they ponder over all the different colors and flavors. As adults, it is hard to recreate this level of excitement, that is, until now. Harry Winston has just unveiled its brand-new Premiere Winston Candy, adorned with candy-colored gemstones that will have everyone reaching over the counter.

Eight different colored gemstones in three different sizes come into play in this new timepiece, covering both the dial and case like confetti. There are 244 gemstones on the dial alone, made up of 108 white diamonds, 25 turquoise Paraiba tourmalines, 24 green tsavorites, 24 orange spessarites, 17 dark-blue sapphires and 17 light-blue sapphires, along with 16 red spinels and 13 pink sapphires.

All the stones are set using a snow-setting. This technique was designed to capture the natural and irregular beauty of freshly fallen snow. Where most settings use a more regular prong setting, the snow setting is quite random with the use of different-sized stones that are set into an underlying gold structure pitted with hollowed-out areas. The objective is to set the gemstones as closely together as possible without revealing the metal, but also paying particular attention to maximize the fire of each stone.

The Premier collection is instantly recognizable by its distinctive lugs that are inspired by the shape of the arched entrance to Harry Winston’s Fifth Avenue flagship boutique. Since its debut in 1989, the Premier collection has been designed to showcase different artistic crafts, such as its silk and feather dials that are handcrafted by expert artisans.

The Premier Winston Candy comes in a 31mm, 18-karat white gold case and is embellished with a further 63 multi-colored gemstones. There is also a truncated diamond set into the crown and on either side of the lugs.

The timepiece is powered by a high-end Swiss automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve and features a flat silicon balance spring that can be viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback.

Limited to 77 pieces, the Premiere Winston Candy comes dressed with a raspberry-colored alligator strap and a white gold pin buckle, also set with 15 colored gemstones, of course!
