MB&F x Bvlgari Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra – The Ultimate Wearable Art
Swiss luxury watch manufacturer MB&F and Rome-based Maison Bvlgari announced the latest Legacy Machine FlyingT – the FlyingT Allegra- at Dubai Watch Week 2021.
MB&F and Bvlgari combine extreme wearable art with revolutionary wearable instruments in the latest Legacy Machine FlyingT. The new Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra truly demonstrates what lies at the intersection of two radically different creatives. Namely Bvlgari’s creative director Fabrizio Buonamassa and MB&F’s founder and creative director Maximilian Büsser.
MB&F’s desire to design futuristic concept-based timepieces and Bulgari’s commitment to graphic aesthetics naturally led them to revisit Maximilian’s FlyingT. Maximilian Büsser created the FlyingT in 2019, his first watch for women, as a tribute to femininity.
The Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra
The Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra comes in 2 versions: 18K white gold and 18K red gold. Both variations feature Bulgari’s fave gems flanked by snow-set diamonds, which counterbalance the watch’s open mechanism. An exquisite combination of tourmaline, tsavorite, diamonds, rubellites, amethysts, tanzanites, and topaz adorn the dial. The case dimensions are 39 mm in diameter and 20 mm in height, just a tad larger than the original 38.5 mm version to accommodate the new shape and the 2.80 carats of diamonds.
This three-dimensional horological sculpture has a domed sapphire crystal that rises from the bezel giving this art piece a spherical shape. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on both sides, providing a seamless view of this luxury timepiece’s intricately-designed internal mechanism and precious gems.
The main dial is positioned at 7 o’clock and is decorated with white diamonds. Two elegantly designed serpentine hands display the hours and minutes. The dial is inclined at a 50-degree angle so that only the wearer can read the time. A gold plaque bearing the two brand names: MB&F x BVLGARI is visible between 4 and 6 o’clock.
Bulgari redesigns the case of the LM FlyingT Allegra. The previously diamond-studded elongated lugs are now shorter and almost hidden under the case. In addition, this watch has two crowns: winding on the left and time-setting on the right.
Each watch is fitted with an alligator strap and a pin buckle that matches the case. The Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra is water-resistant to 30 meters (3ATM).
The Flying Tourbillon:
The Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra features MB&F’s vertically built 60-second flying tourbillon (also featured in previous versions).
The flying tourbillon case and movement sit at the dial’s center, surrounded by cabochon cut gemstones. In addition, there is a large diamond mounted at the top of the upper tourbillon cage, which rotates simultaneously with the flying tourbillon.
The automatic winding rotor appears in the form of a three-dimensional red gold sun on the case back. The sun-shaped shaped winding rotor rotates with the ruthenium disc above the platinum counterweight.
The Engine:
The Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra is powered by MB&F’s Flying T caliber, featuring a vertically oriented movement, 60-second flying tourbillon, and a sun-shaped winding rotor. This watch offers a generous power reserve of 100 hours. The Flying T automatic caliber has 280 parts, 30 jewels, and beats at a frequency of 18,000bph / 2.5Hz.
