We are living in the perfect time to buy a watch. Just about any fine watch is of the highest quality and fairly priced.
There are, however, some great deals on spectacular watches, if you know where to look.
Here are the best deals under the watchmaking sun:
Hamilton 38mm Khaki Field Mechanical
This hand-wound mechanical watch channels Hamilton’s military history and puts it straight into a modern watch with a vintage look, at a size that is perfect for today. At $475, this watch is a steal.
Luminox Master Carbon SEAL
Designed for use by the Navy SEALs, this Luminox has it all – a durable, light Carbonox case, water resistant to 300 meters and Luminox Light Technology, which makes this watch visible in low or no light situations for at least 12 years. All this for $690.
Tissot Goldrun 18K Gold
Usually, a solid, 18K gold watch means serious money, but not at Tissot. This Goldrun timepiece features a 38mm 18K gold case, classic styling and a leather strap all for $1,950. Incredible, really.
Baume & Mercier Baumatic
Baume & Mercier designed this timepiece to address the problems the watch industry has in after sales service – reliability, precision and ease of service. The Baumatic delivers all this, with COSC certification, 120 hours of power reserve, a silicon hair spring, magnetic resistant to 1,500 gauss and a two year warranty, all for $2,990.
Tudor Heritage Black Bay
When it was first introduced, the Heritage Black Bay from Tudor turned heads with its look and its great price. Now, the Black Bay’s have a Tudor in-house movement and a number of different variations – different bezel colors, bronze, sizes – all at great prices and a solid brand behind them. Prices start from CHF 3,400.
You can’t go wrong buying a Rolex, and the Submariner is a model that will hold its value as long as you take care of it. Starting at CHF 8,100 in steel, it’s worth every penny.
Ulysse Nardin Freak Vision
The Freak turned watchmaking on its ear when it was first introduced in 2001, and now it’s available at a more attractive price in the latest version, called the Freak Out. Sure, CHF48,000 is lot of money, but when you consider the other versions go for $95,000, it seems quite the bargain! If you want to stand out and get great value for your hard-earned cash, the Freak Out is a great choice.
