The Delma Blue Shark III Black Edition – A Divers Watch With Attitude
The Swiss family-owned watch brand Delma flaunts its new limited edition Divers’ Watch “The Delma Blue Shark III Black Edition”.

Delma sent the Blue Shark III Black Edition with explorer, photographer, and cave diver, Klaus Thymann on a formidable underwater adventure in the world’s most extensive underwater cave system. Klaus explored various parts of underwater caves in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, from undisturbed geological surfaces in the world’s largest interconnected labyrinth network to descending to almost 70 meters below sea level.

The Delma Blue Shark III Black edition served as a perfect guide and companion. In his own words, Klaus expressed, “In the Caves, time moves differently, so it is crucial to have a reliable divers watch. I love how the Blue Shark III looks above water but submerged in the darkness, it not only looks incredible, but it also feels fantastic. The luminescent hands and indices are easy to read, giving me the confidence to pursue unexplored territory.”

Delma’s distinctive divers’ watch series is the best embodiment of a dive watch built for actual function. Over the past 45 years, Delma has continued to prove the progression of its divers’ watches, from its first divers’ watch, the Shell Star, to its new Blue Shark III Black edition.

Much like its predecessor, this new black edition comes with the same enhanced crown protection, luminous markers, and helium relief valve at 9 o’clock, which protects the crystal from popping out due to the pressure. In addition to the other specifications of the Blue Shark III, this new edition has a scratch-resistant black DLC coating. The watch is powered by a Sellita SW 200 automatic movement, a relatively affordable alternative compared to the ETA 2824. It runs on a self-winding mechanism with a ball bearing, a frequency of 28’800, and a power reserve of 38 hours.

This new divers’ watch is waterproof to an astonishing 4000 meters! It easily withstands the pressures of the deep seas, as tested and certified by the Swiss PST Laboratory for Product Safety Testing. To put 4000 meters in perspective, a dive watch actually only needs to be water-resistant to 200 meters to qualify as a dive watch.

This Blue Shark III Black edition comes in a stainless steel case coated with DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) with a diameter of 47 mm and a thickness of 18.5 mm. The case features a unidirectional rotating bezel for accurate and safe diving. There are three different dial color variations: black, blue, and orange, with luminescent numerals, indexes, and hands for increased visibility in dark and murky water.
The three-link stainless-steel black DLC coated bracelet, like the rest of the watch, is scratch-resistant. An additional rubber strap is available in the elegant wooden box and the necessary tools to exchange the watch strap yourself.

The Delma Blue Shark III Black Edition is limited to 300 pieces per dial color and is available through authorized dealers at a suggested retail price of 2750 USD.
