Clive Cussler
Cussler was an accomplished writer with over 50 books and 100 million copies sold to his name, written either alone or in collaboration with others. His works were widely read in many languages across the globe. Among his famous literary series were Dirk Pitt, NUMA Files, Oregon Files, Isaac Bell, and Fargo. Both Clive Cussler in real life and Dirk Pitt, in his novels, wore an orange-faced Doxa Sub 300T dive watch. Sadly, Clive Cussler passed away in 2020, but his literary contributions remain a significant part of his legacy.
The NUMA Foundation
Clive Cussler founded the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA), a non-profit organization committed to unlocking the secrets of naval and maritime history by searching for lost ships of great significance. Under Cussler’s leadership, a group of fearless marine experts and NUMA volunteers have undertaken daring expeditions to uncover some of the world’s most historically important wreck sites. Over the years, they have explored more than 60 sunken vessels, each holding a unique story waiting to be unearthed. Recently, they discovered the Carpathia, the ship that rescued hundreds of lives from the Titanic disaster. Once artifacts are recovered, NUMA hands them over to state and federal authorities or donates them to museums and universities.
