In October 2024, Albishorn introduced its second chronograph, the Type 10, as a fictional predecessor to the renowned Type 20. Albishorn specializes in “Imaginary Vintage®” watches—timepieces that blend seamlessly into watchmaking history but are imagined creations. The Type 10 answers the hypothetical question of what a predecessor to the Type 20, designed in 1948, might have looked like.
The Type 10 is a monopusher military chronograph with a patented proprietary movement designed to meet the needs of 1940s pilots. It includes a patented additional complication: a chronograph operating indicator at 12 o’clock. This small dot changes color depending on the chronograph’s state—black for reset, red for running, and white for stopped—allowing pilots to easily check its status. The watch also features a unique dial layout with two sub-dials at 4:30 and 7:30, luminous markers for enhanced readability in low light, and a sleek 12mm stainless steel case with a black DLC-coated rotating bezel.
The Type 10 is available in two versions: the Type 10 Classic, embodying the purest form, and the Type 10 Sihlwald, which adds a green fumé dial, red chronograph hands, and a bronze crown.
