This new addition to Alpina’s Heritage collection is a timepiece that pays tribute to the brand’s rich history, particularly evoking the designs from the 1920s to the 1940s. This watch is available in two versions, both featuring a compact 38 mm diameter, dauphine hands, a leather strap with a pin buckle, a solid-colored caseback, and a polished steel case. The first version features a beige dial with Arabic numerals, while the second version has a satin-finished grey hour circle with a combination of bronze-colored hour markers and Arabic numerals.
The Heritage collection is known for its vintage design elements, faithfully preserving Alpina’s watchmaking legacy. Unlike the previous collections, which focused on square and Seastrong models, this is the first round timepiece in the collection. The new model, named Heritage Automatic, reflects the minimalist and elegant styles of the 1920s, inspired by a vintage 25.7 mm watch from Alpina’s archives but resized to 38 mm to meet modern preferences.
The dial design is understated, with two blue dauphine hands, a sector dial minute track, and a restored original Alpina logo typeface. It features a leather strap typical of the era and is water-resistant to 30 meters. The caseback is solid, and the watch is equipped with modern non-reflective sapphire crystal instead of the fragile Plexiglas used in the past.
Inside, the watch is powered by the AL-520 calibre, which offers a 38-hour power reserve and automatic winding. The watch also proudly displays “26 jewels” at 6 o’clock, echoing the prestige of such details in the past.
