Bremont updates its iconic MBII model

Bremont introduced the Martin-Baker (MB) watch over 10 years ago. It all started with a challenge – to design a unique piece for pilots that had ejected using Martin-Baker ejection seats. Many additional MB variations have been created since then, based on the original design.

2020 – The update of a classic

Both the white and black dial MBII models have been refined for this 2020 launch, and a new blue dial version has been added. The redesign is clearly visible with the modern numerals, a new dial featuring bolder and more readable hands, and the absence of the day function. The caseback has also been treated to a redesign with a bronze-colored “military challenge coin” inset. The BE-36AE automatic chronometer caliber is new as well and sports a 38-hour power reserve.

And it doesn’t stop there! A new strap material called “Chalgrove” has been developed. A high-performance bi-material strap combining both leather (recto) and rubber (verso). The color of the rubber defines both the color of the stitching on the leather and the barrel.

The DNA of this well-known MBII model remains unchanged, though, as does the rigorous testing program that Bremont puts the MB range through.

Also new this year is the possibility to design your own version of the MBII on Bremont’s newly introduced online configurator.

The online system has preloaded dial, case, case back, barrel, and strap choices to choose from. The barrel color options are blue, orange, yellow, green, and anthracite, as well as military-inspired, purple, bronze, jet, and titanium. The only color you can’t choose is red – well unless you have actually been ejected using a Martin-Baker ejection seat.

There will be over 100 different possible designs in terms of case and dial, and over 1000 factoring in the different straps.
