The Favre Leuba Chief Date distills the refined elegance of the Chief Chronograph into a sleeker 40mm stainless steel case, measuring just 10.8mm thick. Retaining the same delicately sculpted form, it offers a more streamlined profile while maintaining its signature presence. The satin-finished and polished surfaces create a subtle play of light, enhancing the watch’s sophisticated yet sporty appeal. An integrated, interchangeable bracelet ensures both comfort and versatility, seamlessly blending with the case for a fluid, modern look.

Setting the Chief Date apart is its intricately textured dial, featuring a stamped tapestry pattern of raised hourglasses—a nod to Favre Leuba’s enduring legacy. The offset sunray finish interacts dynamically with light, available in green, blue, and black, each exuding a vibrant yet refined character. A discreet date window at 3 o’clock adds a touch of practical functionality without disrupting the watch’s harmonious design.

Beneath the surface, the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement ensures 68 hours of power reserve, delivering precision and reliability. Visible through the case back, it showcases exquisite finishing, including diamond-cut bevels, blued screws, and Côtes de Genève striping, while the Geneva-striped oscillating weight adds the final touch.

Favre Leuba, founded in 1737 by Abraham Favre in Le Locle, Switzerland, is one of the oldest watchmaking brands in the world. Over the centuries, it became a key player in the industry, particularly after expanding internationally in the 19th century. By the 1960s, the brand was at the forefront of innovation, introducing groundbreaking timepieces like the 1962 Bivouac, the first mechanical wristwatch with an aneroid barometer, and the 1968 Bathy, which included a mechanical depth gauge for divers.

Despite its success, Favre Leuba struggled during the quartz crisis of the 1970s, which led to a series of ownership changes. The brand eventually left the hands of the founding family in 1985 and passed through different corporate groups over the years, including a period under LVMH and later India’s Titan Company. While there were several attempts to revive the brand, it never fully regained the market dominance it once held.

In 2024, Favre Leuba took a major step forward with a fresh relaunch led by CEO Patrik Hoffmann, a respected name in the watch industry. The brand introduced 22 new models across three collections—Chief, Deep Blue, and Sea Sky Chronograph—at the Geneva Watch Days event. This revival focused on blending Favre Leuba’s rich history with modern appeal, reaffirming its place in the world of horology.

All Favre Leuba timepieces are shipped via DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service, meaning the purchase price includes customs duties and VAT. This ensures a hassle-free delivery with no hidden costs. An adult signature is required to confirm the delivery of your Favre Leuba watch. Please note that international shipments may also be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities.

Returns

If you’re not thoroughly satisfied with your order, you can return Favre Leuba products purchased on The Watch Pages within 14 days of the delivery date. Once your return is accepted, a return label will be provided. The product must be returned within five days of the initiation of the return approval.

Please note that Favre Leuba products must be in original, unused condition with all tags, stickers, accessories, and documentation intact, including the original Favre Leuba box and delivery package. Returns will not be accepted if the product shows signs of wear or has been altered. Please note that only the value of the goods will be refunded and that we cannot refund any bank charges or currency conversion fees.
