Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar in forest green takes inspiration from the Ore Mountains in Germany
Glashütte Original is located in the Saxon area of Germany, as are the Ore mountains from which they often take inspiration for the color of their dials. This time, they had only to look out the manufacture window to see the tall green fir trees. Working closely with their in-house dial manufacture, they transformed the brass dial blanks into a deep, rich green that immediately brings to mind the coniferous forests found in Glashütte.
The dial is hand-crafted with an intense green in the center that gradually changes to black on the edges. This result is achieved by first giving the brass dial a coat of galvanic nickel, then applying a black lacquer on the edges followed by a transparent green lacquer on the entire surface. This process results in each dial being unique.
The 40mm stainless steel case is polished and satin-brushed with the automatic 90-02 caliber visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. The auxiliary dials for hours and minutes and for the small seconds are placed along a vertical axis on the left half of the dial, while the Panorama Date appears at 4 o’clock and the silver-colored moon phase display at 2 o’clock.
The PanoMaticLunar in forest green features a brown nubuck leather strap and is also available on a steel strap.
