Motofumi “POGGY” Kogi, aka PoggyTheMan, is a Japanese style pioneer who is known for his combination of men’s tailoring, streetwear, and sportswear. He rose to fame working for Japanese retailer United Arrows and now has his own eponymous label, PoggyTheMan.

Poggy’s timepiece choices – The Ventura

When it comes to watches, Poggy is a huge fan of the futuristic and asymmetric Hamilton Ventura and chose this timepiece for the basis of his collaborative design with Hamilton. The history of this iconic timepiece also appealed to Poggy as it was not only the first electric watch powered by a battery, but it also won the heart of one of Poggy’s personal style icons, that of Elvis Presley.

The design

The Hamilton Ventura PoggyTheMan timepiece is powered by a quality Swiss-Made quartz movement and comes in all-black with pink indexes and accents on the dial, along with a pink lining on the black leather strap. Poggy chose this eye-catching color scheme after the pink suits that Elvis used to wear on stage, while the black pays reference to the original 1957 design.

Poggy’s thoughts on the collaboration

Poggy shares his thoughts on the collaboration with Hamilton: “When I started devoting myself to fashion, the first watch I bought was a Hamilton Khaki Field. In my 20s I longed for a Ventura. Hamilton has been and will always be very special to me. I believe that any collaboration should be between friends with the same mindset and that is what has happened with Hamilton”.
