IWC’s iconic Big Pilot for the right hand.
Where most people wear their watch on the left wrist, for many it is more natural to have it on the right hand. This can be quite uncomfortable due to the position of the crown on the right side of the case, which can dig into the arm. To make sure everyone is comfortable with their Big Pilot, IWC is now offering both options for its clients.
Ten percent of the general population is left-handed, and it is estimated that 40% of pilots wear their watch on the right hand.
The IWC Big Pilot is inspired by the Big Pilot’s Watch Calibre 52 TSC from the 1940s with a large 46.2mm case and easy-to-read details that are reminiscent of cockpit instruments.
The “Right-hander” is driven by the brand’s in-house automatic 52010 caliber which is protected by a soft-iron inner case that safeguards the movement against the effects of magnetic fields. It has two barrels and a seven-day power reserve. The watch is limited to 250 pieces.
