Limited edition of 178 pieces
Louis Erard’s latest collaboration with watchmaker and jeweler Cédric Johner marks a significant milestone in contemporary watchmaking. Johner’s personal touch elevates craftsmanship to new heights, particularly with his hand-decorated oscillating weights on each movement. This limited edition release features sleek 39-millimeter cases in blue and mauve variations, each version limited to 178 pieces.
Louis Erard has a tradition of expanding the horizons of contemporary watchmaking by collaborating with architects, artists, craftsmen, and independent watchmakers. The partnership with Geneva-based Cédric Johner intersects these various paths.
Johner describes his approach as “intuitive watchmaking,” where he crafts watches without predefined plans. He begins with individual components and assembles them organically until the finished, decorated watch emerges. Working alone with his hands, Johner transforms vintage movements, restores them, and adds his unique decorations.
The collaboration between Louis Erard and Cédric Johner represents a fusion of artistic expression and refined watchmaking. Manuel Emch, Louis Erard’s Artistic Director and CEO, initiated the partnership, aiming to create a limited series that combines the refinement of bespoke craftsmanship with accessibility.
