The Rec Spec Khaki Brown is the most creative reinterpretation of the classic MACV-SOG watches from the 1960s. With a Khaki Brown color inspired by traditional military palettes, this dial adds a fresh touch to the collection while maintaining the original field watch look. The 38mm case size and integrated 4-Hour crown placement ensure excellent wearability in all environments, whether on or off the field. The integrated crown design not only protects it from accidental pulling but also minimizes wrist presence.
Powered by the robust NH36 TMI movement, it offers a 39-hour power reserve, hacking capability, and a day-date complication, staying true to the features of the original 1960s models.
The Rec Spec project began after meeting John “Tilt” Stryker Meyer, a former MACV-SOG member. He explained how the unit sourced local Seiko watches from Vietnamese markets. These watches, initially sold as dress watches, proved effective as field watches for elite units in Vietnam, giving the MACV-SOG watches their unique appearance compared to traditional US military watches of the 1960s. The Rec Spec, short for “Reconnaissance Spec,” honors the men and equipment used to gather valuable intelligence behind enemy lines.
