New materials and exciting colors for the Tutima Grand Flieger Airport
Tutima has a long history of manufacturing pilot’s watches. The Grand Flieger Airport collection is actually inspired by one of their chronographs from the 1940s. The new models, two chronographs, and three 3-handed watches embody the traditional virtues of Tutima – readability, precision, and optimal legibility – the same cornerstones that distinguish all of their pilot watches.
What’s new? Well, for the first time the distinctive Tutima bidirectional rotatable bezel with a 60-minute scale is made of ultra-hard scratch-resistant ceramic and is offered in either Classic Blue or Military Green. The 43mm stainless steel case comes with a screw-down crown and has been pressure tested to 20 atmospheres, so 200 meters water resistance. It is fitted with anti-reflective sapphire glass both above the dial and on the case back.
The hands, hour markers, and the pearl on the rotating bezel are covered in superluminova with the numerals and triangular index of the chronographs 12- hour counter in red. All on a beautiful Military Green background. The Grand Flieger Airport Chronograph features the Tutima caliber 310 which powers the counters for 12 elapsed hours, 60 elapsed seconds, and 30 elapsed minutes, as well as the day of the week and the date. Both of the chronograph models are fitted with a tough matching Cordura textile strap
