Vacheron Constantin, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious watchmakers, has a history dating back to 1755. Founder Jean-Marc Vacheron established a reputation for producing high-quality pocket watches that quickly gained the attention of collectors and connoisseurs.

Throughout the 19th century, Vacheron Constantin continued to innovate and produce some of the era’s most complicated and beautiful watches. Francois Constantin, a business partner of Jean-Marc Vacheron, joined the company in 1819 and helped establish the brand’s international reputation. Constantin expanded the company’s sales network to other countries, including France, Italy, and England.

In the early 20th century, Vacheron Constantin began producing wristwatches, which caused quite a stir. The company’s first wristwatches featured art deco-inspired designs. Throughout the following decades, Vacheron Constantin continued to push the boundaries of watchmaking, introducing new complications such as chronographs, moon phase indicators, and minute repeaters. The company also developed its first automatic chronograph movement, used in the iconic reference 4907 watch.

In the 1980s, Vacheron Constantin became part of the Vendome Luxury Group, later known as the Richemont Group. Under the ownership of Richemont, Vacheron Constantin continued to produce some of the world’s most beautiful and technically advanced watches. Today, Vacheron Constantin remains committed to the principles of precision, beauty, and craftsmanship that have defined the company for over 250 years.
