Introduced at Watches and Wonders 2024, the Czapek Promenade collection blends haute horology with haute couture. Designed as a canvas for artistic expression, it embodies contemporary sophistication with a playful edge. Originally conceived as a women’s watch, the idea evolved into a gender-inclusive timepiece—chic, modern, and mechanically refined. As Czapek & Cie CEO Xavier de Roquemarel puts it: “Beauty and creativity transcend gender. A truly stunning watch is universally appealing, much like a perfectly tailored tuxedo.”

Housed in a sleek 38mm case, Promenade’s defining feature is asymmetry, with a dynamic dial design radiating from the small seconds sub-dial at 4:30. For 2025, Czapek introduces the Plissé (pleats) dial, inspired by haute couture—Marilyn Monroe’s iconic pleated dress, Issey Miyake’s avant-garde folds, and Yves Saint Laurent’s timeless Le Smoking tuxedo. The dial mimics the fluidity of fabric, appearing as if gently pushed aside by the sub-dial’s weight, creating an illusion of dance-like movement through an intricate stamping process developed with Metalem.

Available in Ivory, Pearl White, and Rose, the Plissé collection is limited to just 18 pieces per color. Integrating applied indexes within the pleated contours presented a technical challenge, but the result is a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow. To maintain its slim profile, Czapek adapted its SXH5 micro-rotor movement, ensuring both mechanical excellence and aesthetic harmony.

A modern evolution of Czapek’s iconic Quai des Bergues, the Promenade case features sandblasted sides, curved crown guards, and a slim, rounded bezel. With Promenade Plissé, Czapek reaffirms its commitment to artistic craftsmanship, creating a timepiece that seamlessly merges haute horology with high fashion.
