To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Ahmed Seddiqi – an institution in Middle Eastern Haute Horlogerie – Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud is honouring its long-time partner with a platinum limited edition of the Chronomètre FB 3SPC. Founded in 1950, Seddiqi has been instrumental in shaping Dubai’s watch landscape and was among Berthoud’s earliest allies. Their shared reverence for heritage and technical progress makes this commemorative release especially fitting as Dubai Watch Week 2025 sets the stage.

This ultra-rare trio of FB 3SPC.3-4 pieces elevates Berthoud’s cylindrical-hairspring chronometer with bespoke details. A 42 mm platinum case frames a velvet-finished black inner bezel with gold-accented numerals, while the movement’s bridges and mainplate sport a new sandblasted champagne color, enhanced by yellow gold hands for crisp legibility. On the reverse, the sapphire crystal carries Seddiqi’s “75” anniversary emblem. The timing is poetic: 2025 also marks Berthoud’s own 10th anniversary, reinforcing the enduring bond forged when Seddiqi supported the rebirth of the brand’s Fleurier workshop.

At its core, the FB 3SPC remains a modern tribute to Louis Berthoud’s 1793 decimal chronometer. It is still the only COSC-certified wristwatch featuring a variable-inertia balance paired with a cylindrical balance spring, an architecture displayed proudly at 9 o’clock and visible through a lateral porthole. Since its debut in 2022, this movement has captivated collectors and earned the 2023 GPHG Chronometry Prize, reaffirming Berthoud’s command of precision watchmaking.
