With the unveiling of the Ripples Collection in 2022, Speake Marin has introduced to its collection its sport-chic watch made in stainless steel and full of contemporary flair.
Imagined by the visionary Stéphane Lacroix, the Ripples Collection draws inspiration from the iconic architecture of London’s financial district, affectionately known as “La City.” The collection’s distinctive “La City” case, with twelve three-dimensional horizontal ripples, pays homage to this rich heritage while oozing modern elegance.
Introducing the Ripples Infinity Date
At Watches and Wonders 2024, Speake Marin unveils its latest addition: the Ripples Infinity Date. With its metallic silver dial, this timepiece commands attention, its neutral shade serving as a backdrop for infinite possibilities. White, symbolizing purity and lightness, invites wearers on a journey towards the vast expanse of space, urging them to embrace new challenges and horizons. Practical yet elegant, this timepiece features a date display at 6 o’clock, ensuring it remains a steadfast companion in the urban jungle or at gala soirées.
Form Meets Function
The Ripples Collection’s signature “La City” case is a study in balance, seamlessly mixing round and square shapes to create a harmonious look. Made from stainless steel and boasting a diameter of 40.3mm, this iconic case is a testament to Speake Marin’s meticulous attention to detail. Water-resistant to 5 atm and fitted with a screw-down crown protection, it is as functional as it is elegant.
The dial of the Ripples Infinity Date features twelve engraved horizontal ripples that give it depth and personality. Each ripple is hand-satin-finished, resulting in a dial that is as unique as its wearer. The dial is paired with applied rhodium-plated indexes and heart-tipped hour hands, which create a dynamic play of light and shadow. The small seconds counter is visible at 1:30, an unusual position that has become distinctive for the brand.
Precision in Motion
The Ripples Infinity Date watch boasts an impressive in-house self-winding calibre SMA03-TD at its core. Made up of 162 components, all manufactured and assembled in Speake Marin’s atelier in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, this movement showcases the brand’s unwavering commitment to quality. The regulation organ beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 52-hour power reserve, ensuring precision and reliability with every tick. Every detail speaks to the brand’s pursuit of perfection, from its rhodium-plated bridges decorated with Geneva stripes to its tungsten micro-rotor. The calibre is clearly visible through the sapphire crystal porthole.
