Laurent Ferrier Celebrate 12 years with the Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown
To commemorate the brand’s 12th anniversary, Laurent Ferrier introduces a fresh rendition of the Grand Sport Tourbillon in red gold.
This latest addition to the Sport Collection, which debuted in 2019, embodies the two creators’ common passion for motor racing. Its case is styled like a brilliantly streamlined car body, with clean lines and generous curves, and it houses a high-performance tourbillon calibre: the LF619.01 with double balance spring.
Previously released in two all-steel versions, each in a limited edition of 12 timepieces, Laurent Ferrier now introduces the Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown. It features an integrated case and bracelet in 5N red gold, as well as an exquisite dial in graded hues of chocolate brown. Red gold, an unchangeable, ageless, and valuable metal, lends this timepiece a majestic and refined appearance. The warm shades of red gold draw a magnificent contrast with the enticing chocolate-colored dial.
The beauty of this extraordinary timepiece, like with other Laurent Ferrier masterpieces, is in the smallest details, where each component has been lovingly created to perfection. The Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown is only available in a limited number of 24 pieces.
It’s All in the Color Combination
The graduated dial features a selection of sumptuous chocolate brown tones that progress from lighter in the center of the dial to darker at the outskirts. The dial has an opaline finish with 5N red gold appliques and white Super-LumiNova. The renowned drop-shaped hour markers and the Assegai-shaped hands – a Laurent Ferrier hallmark – have been increased in size to fit the white Super-LumiNova, like on earlier editions of the Sport Collection. When viewed from the side, the watch appears rounded as the sapphire glass protecting the dial is domed.
While the Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown appears modern, it upholds the watchmaking traditions held dear by Laurent Ferrier.
The Beauty of the Red Gold Case & Bracelet
The Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown 5N red gold case design is inspired by the graceful, timeless contours of racing automobiles akin to those driven by Laurent in his racing days. A commanding presence on the wrist with a 44 mm case size and a total weight of 310 grams.
The Grand Sport Tourbillon’s case is constructed primarily of satin-brushed components with additional mirror-polished elements. The cushion-like bezel has a contrasting mirror shine on its sides, and a round satin brush finish. The middle case, which provides a novel take on the barrel form, also features a variety of finishes, including a vertical satin brushing on the top, a horizontal satin brushing on the profile, and contrasting mirror-polished sides.
The three-link, 5N red-gold bracelet is expertly crafted to provide a snug and comfortable fit. The bracelet comprises three rows of three links, each with a vertical satin-brushed finish, while the central links are beveled with contrasting mirror polish.
The Laurent Ferrier Manual LF619.01 Tourbillon Calibre
The Classic Tourbillon by LAURENT FERRIER won the Men’s Watch category at the 2010 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). This timepiece was powered by a manual wound calibre with a tourbillon and a double balance spring. This very same LF619.01 movement powers the new Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown, albeit more modern.
The tourbillon, invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1801, counteracted the adverse effects of gravity on the regulating organ of a pocket watch while held upright. The lateral displacement of the balance’s axis is additionally neutralized by equipping the balance with two reverse-assembled balance springs. Combining these two methods gives you the best of both worlds: outstanding accuracy and a power reserve of more than 80 hours.
The carriage that houses the double-balance-spring tourbillon is visible through the sapphire transparent case back. Hand-decorating the tourbillon carriage bridge was no easy task. The mechanism is hand-worked and features 30 internally polished angles.

Laurent Ferrier introduced the Grand Sport Tourbillon Golden Brown today, limited to 28 pieces. I usually say that this watch will be available at all Laurent Ferrier retailers worldwide, but I am guessing if you are not already on the waiting list, this watch is going to be tough to get.
