The Louis Moinet BLACK MOON is a 60-piece limited edition timepiece featuring a unique lunar cycle display with exceptional precision. It showcases two lunar meteorites, representing the full moon and new moon, set on a central disc. The mechanism, driven by cutting-edge engineering, ensures accuracy with just a one-day deviation in 122 years. Designed by independent watchmaker LOUIS MOINET in collaboration with Concepto, the watch houses a self-winding calibre.
The meteorites, Dhofar 457 and Gadamis 005, symbolize the full moon and new moon, respectively, with distinct appearances reflecting the moon’s geological diversity. The Dhofar 457, a black rock from a lunar crater, and the Gadamis 005, renowned for its beauty, create a striking contrast on the timepiece.
The dial design of the Black Moon combines modern aesthetics with technical complexity. The dial in aventurine and the floating indexes contribute to the celestial theme, while luminescent elements ensure visibility in the dark. The subdial at 9 o’clock features an innovative display for seconds, and an openworked zone offers a glimpse into the intricate movement.
The case is in polished and satin-finished titanium, the BLACK MOON is lightweight and features a domed sapphire crystal. The crown bears the emblem of Les Ateliers Louis Moinet, adding a touch of elegance to the sleek design.
