Speake-Marin Openworked Sandblasted Titanium

Speake Marin has unveiled two new variations of the One & Two Openworked watches, namely the Openworked Sandblasted Titanium and Sandblasted Red Gold. Each model, though bearing resemblance to their family line, possesses unique personalities marked by their distinctive cases of red gold and titanium, which beautifully play with light reflections on their sandblasted grey dials. The timepieces manifest Speake Marin’s profound expertise in watchmaking and its English heritage, embodied through elements such as the emblematic Piccadilly case and their in-house calibre, SMA01.

Craftsmanship shines through the polished grade 5 titanium or 18k red gold cases, available in sizes of 38 mm and 42 mm and a thickness of 10.5 mm. They feature a sapphire crystal glass, treated with an anti-reflective coating, protecting both the dial and case back. The sandblasting technique gives the watches a grain finish, rough yet exceedingly elegant in appearance, adding to the watch’s aesthetic appeal. Visible movement parts are meticulously finished, displaying polished beveled profiles of bridges and apertures, reflecting the elaborate decorative complexity skillfully executed by craftsmen.

The One & Two Openworked Sandblasted timepieces are powered by the in-house calibre SMA01, a self-winding movement designed and assembled by “Le Cercle des Horlogers,” allowing a slimmer case design due to its integrated micro-rotor. The movement operates at a frequency of 4hz, translating to 28,800 vibrations per hour, and boasts a 52-hour power reserve. A remarkable attention to detail is evidenced in the finishing touches, such as the polished chamfered profiles, sunray, and microbeaded finishes of the oscillating mass, along with polished beveled edges, gold coating, and a meticulous circular-graining motif.

Key to the timepieces’ identity are the engraved values of Speake Marin, such as RESPECT and CREATIVITE, visible on the dial, illustrating the brand’s philosophical foundation and its continuous journey through past, present, and future. Finally, matching their exquisite cases, the watches come with grey or black leather straps, paired with buckles crafted from either 18K red gold or titanium, harmonizing with their respective cases.
