De Bethune made a notable entrance at the Dubai Watch Week 2023 with the introduction of the DBD Evergreen, a timepiece that not only captures the eye but also embodies a deep cultural resonance. This watch, limited to just 20 exclusive pieces, is more than just an accessory; it’s a symbol of elegance and heritage, inspired by the rich symbolism of the color green, particularly significant in Middle Eastern culture.

The DBD series, which began in 2006, has been a journey of innovation for De Bethune. The first DBD model introduced a novel way of interpreting time with its triple linear calendar and digital time display. Since then, 39 models have been created, each offering a unique take on luxury watchmaking, available in either rose gold or white gold.
Crafted from polished grade 5 titanium, the DBD Evergreen is notable for its lightweight feel and futuristic design. It features a crown positioned at 12 o’clock and is adorned with uniquely shaped lugs. The green dial, decorated with Côtes de Genève, creates a mesmerizing interplay of light that complements the wearer’s movements.
De Bethune’s roots are deeply embedded in the 18th-century horological tradition. Its founder, Denis Flageollet, draws inspiration from this era, consistently paying homage to the art of watchmaking through innovative and respectful designs. The DBD showcases this through its linear display of the day, date, and month, as well as its unique use of the Geneva Stripes motif on the dial – a first in the industry when introduced in 2006.
The DBD Evergreen isn’t just about aesthetic appeal; it’s a marvel of modern technology. The watch is powered by the mechanical caliber DB2044, which vibrates at 28,800 vibrations per hour. It features a new titanium balance wheel with gray gold inserts and a triple parachute system, all visible through the sapphire crystal treated with a double anti-reflective coating.
Each of the 20 limited edition DBD Evergreen pieces is numbered and engraved, signifying its exclusivity. The watch comes with a two-tone beige and green textile strap that matches the dial’s color scheme, as well as an extra-supple black alligator strap, offering versatility and elegance in equal measure.
