In the world of high-end watches, Panerai stands apart for its exceptional blend of design and engineering prowess. With a relentless dedication to innovation and an unwavering focus on intricate details, Panerai creates timepieces that are not only precise chronometers but also embody the essence of classic Italian craftsmanship. The latest marvel from Panerai, the Submersible S eTitanio, reference PAM01403, continues the brand’s legacy of disruptive and breathtaking concepts, this time in collaboration with luxury mobility brand BRABUS.
Crafted with the utmost precision, the 47mm case of the PAM01403 is made from eTitanioTM, a revolutionary 100% recycled titanium powder derived from pre-consumer scraps. Panerai is among the pioneers in utilizing Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) technology, a groundbreaking technique that results in a lighter-weight structure with a flawless uniform appearance. Unlike traditional methods, the watch case materializes layer by layer by adding material rather than removing it. Each pass of the high-power fiber optic laser sintering fuses titanium powder together, transforming it into a solid and creating an extraordinary shape seemingly out of thin air. This meticulous precision layering adds a mere 30 microns (0.03 mm) thickness with each laser pass. Most impressively, the DMLS technique allows for a hollow inside structure of the case band without compromising its strength or water resistance. The DMLS titanium watch weighs only 115g, with the case alone weighing 23.6g, making it approximately 30% lighter than standard titanium cases.
Powering the Submersible S is the mesmerizing Skeleton Caliber, a high-end complication by Laboratorio di Idee. This stripped-down movement showcases the watch’s inner workings by eliminating unnecessary materials, drawing attention to its key components. The watch boasts a micro-rotor for automatic winding, offering an impressive power reserve of up to 3 days. Enhancing its functionality and versatility, the Submersible S also features a GMT function with a second bicolor hour hand and AM/PM indicator. Notable patented features of this timepiece include a security device for the watch control mechanism, a rotating bezel system, a lever with a rotating roller, a polarized date, a zero reset, and a stop second movement.
The small seconds at 9 o’clock offer a second reset function for precise time setting, while the patented polarized date is a truly original Panerai creation, allowing the numerals to be visible only when passing through the opening, without obstructing the mechanism. With its skeletonized structure, the watch is remarkably lightweight, adding to its allure as both a functional and stylish accessory. Adding a touch of flair inspired by BRABUS design DNA, the watch features striking red accents.
Completing the package, the Submersible S comes with two straps. The first is a bi-material black calf strap, while the second is a black strap made from 68% recycled PET sourced from post-consumer waste. As a testament to its exclusivity, the PAM01403 is a limited-edition timepiece, with only 177 pieces available worldwide, paying homage to the year BRABUS was founded in 1977.
The Panerai Submersible S BRABUS eTitanio PAM01403 is a groundbreaking timepiece that seamlessly merges design and engineering excellence. With its exceptional craftsmanship, innovative use of materials, and remarkable technical features, this limited-edition watch is set to captivate collectors and enthusiasts alike. Embrace the future of horology with Panerai and experience the epitome of Italian luxury and precision.
