Czapek’s Quai des Bergues Blue Aurora
The Quai des Bergues Blue Aurora comes with a 42,5 mm steel case and the bombé guilloche dial is handcrafted on Czapek’s ‘secret alloy’, made of gold, silver, palladium, and platinum. The dial is available in two different colors, dark blue, Czapek’s signature color, for the Blue Aurora and silver for the Aurora Borealis. The timepiece is fitted with the Czapek SXH1 proprietary caliber, with two barrel springs delivering a 7-days power reserve, developed in collaboration with Chronode.
The dial has a guilloché Ricochet® pattern, registered by Czapek & Cie, which has been developed in collaboration with Czapek’s partner Metalem, one of the best Swiss ateliers for handmade engine-turned dials. This pattern was first introduced in 2017, inspired by the original design created by Francois Czapek in the 1850s. The dial of the Quai des Bergues Aurora Borealis is an evolution of this pattern that was actually instigated by the team at Metalem who started experimenting with the technique. Xavier de Roquemaurel, the CEO of Czapek explains ” The Metalem team were used to work on our Ricochet pattern, and at some point, they started experimenting with it, and among the trials, there was this exceptional design, looking like white waters. We were stunned by its beauty and decided to add it to our collection”.
The Quai des Bergues Aurora Borealis is limited to only 10 pieces. The first piece 1/10 was acquired by a watch collector for a special occasion, even before the watch was officially launched.
