Limited edition of 500 pieces
Comes with an additional burgundy leather strap.
IWC Schaffhausen is commemorating the Year of the Snake with a special edition in its Portofino collection. The Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Year of the Snake stands out with a burgundy dial that complements the golden moon phase display. The watch also features a snake-shaped oscillating weight as a tribute to the sixth sign of the Chinese zodiac. Limited to just 500 pieces, it comes with interchangeable black and burgundy calfskin straps.
The Year of the Wood Snake begins on January 19, 2025, a combination that last occurred in 1965. Those born under this zodiac are thought to be intelligent, brave, and adept problem solvers, with a strong appreciation for knowledge, philosophy, and the finer things in life. The snake symbolizes wisdom, agility, rebirth, and change, along with strength and fertility.
The Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Year of the Snake (Ref. IW459604) features a 37mm stainless steel case and a burgundy dial, a color representing the vibrant fire used to celebrate the Lunar New Year in China. The moon phase display, placed at 12 o’clock, is highly accurate, deviating only by a day every 122 years.
Powered by the IWC-manufactured 32800 calibre, the watch offers automatic winding and a five-day power reserve. The case back reveals a gold-plated snake-shaped oscillating weight, celebrating the Lunar New Year.
