IWC Schaffhausen has launched the re-engineered Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 44 at Watches and Wonders in Geneva, offering four versions with refined designs and enhanced features. The watches come in 18-carat white gold or Armor Gold®, each with distinct dial options. The dials, featuring Horizon Blue, Dune, Obsidian, or Silver Moon, are meticulously finished with 15 layers of lacquer for exceptional depth. The case construction has been revamped for a slimmer profile and incorporates double box-glass sapphire crystals for elegance and lightness. Powered by the IWC-manufactured 52616 calibre with a Pellaton winding system, the watches boast a 7-day power reserve.
The Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, introduced in 1985, showcases IWC’s expertise in mechanical calendar complications. Developed by Kurt Klaus, the perpetual calendar offers synchronized displays and ease of use. Its compact design houses 81 parts and is programmed for a four-year cycle, automatically adjusting for leap years. The latest models continue this tradition with improved accuracy and functionality.
