The Reverso Tribute Enamel Hokusai Waterfalls series by Jaeger-LeCoultre brings together fine watchmaking and Japanese art in a way few collections can. Released in 2026, this collection completes the tribute to Katsushika Hokusai and his famous waterfall series. Each model is limited to just 10 pieces and features a hand guilloché dial with layers of translucent enamel. Turn the case over and you will find a detailed miniature enamel painting inspired by one of Hokusai’s final waterfall works. It is a clear mix of Swiss know how and artistic heritage, made for collectors who value both craftsmanship and culture.

Hokusai changed the direction of Japanese art by moving beyond traditional subjects and focusing on landscapes and nature. His work also shaped how the West first saw Japanese prints. A key part of his style was the use of Prussian blue, a pigment that brought stronger depth and richer tones than older materials. This same attention to detail is reflected in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares atelier. Each caseback takes around 80 hours to complete, with multiple layers of enamel applied and fired at high temperatures. The result captures the original colors, shading, and fine details of Hokusai’s prints, even down to tiny inscriptions.

The front of each watch is just as considered. Guilloché patterns vary across the models and are paired with enamel colors such as walnut brown, green, and blue. Inside, the manually wound Calibre 822 keeps things slim and reliable, offering a 42 hour power reserve. Buyers can choose between a black alligator strap, or a white gold Milanese bracelet. These watches are wearable art pieces that combine history, design, and technical skill in a way that feels both timeless and easy to appreciate.
