Lorige Watches

Founded in 2018, Lorige is a Franco-Swiss watch brand with a genuinely unusual proposition: its cases are made from carbon brake pads from racing cars. The name comes from aurige, the Latin word for charioteer, and the connection to motorsport is as literal as it gets. Developing the patented process for turning race-used brake material into a wearable watch case took three years, and the first result, the BL-Endurance, launched in December 2020, came with a proprietary peripheral-rotor movement developed in-house. The range has grown since, culminating in the AS-01 Tourbillon, built from carbon sourced from Ayrton Senna’s 1993 McLaren and limited to eight pieces by the number of brake pads the team was able to acquire.
