NOMOS Glashütte has expanded its Ahoi collection with two new automatic sport watches built for the season ahead, the Ahoi neomatik sky and the Ahoi neomatik sand. Each measures 36.3 millimeters in diameter, a size suited to a wide range of wrists. The sky version wears a clear sky blue dial, while the sand variant takes on a warm, sun washed gold tone. Orange seconds hands and green glowing Super-LumiNova add sporting touches that read as functional rather than decorative, keeping the overall design calm and legible.
At just 9.1 millimeters thick, both watches sit notably flat on the wrist, closer in profile to a dress watch than to a typical sport reference. The case back is held in place by six screws, with a small whale engraving marking water resistance to 200 meters. The screw down crown includes flank protection and a red warning ring at its base. When that ring is visible, the crown needs one or two more turns before it is fully sealed, and double sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal keeps the dial legible in bright sun.
Powering both watches is the DUW 3001, an ultra-thin automatic caliber developed and finished in house at NOMOS Glashütte. A bidirectional winding rotor and the NOMOS swing system support a 43 hour power reserve, giving the movement steady, consistent timekeeping. Between the slim case, the screw down crown, and dial colors drawn from open water and sun warmed sand, the Ahoi neomatik sky and sand are built equally for swimming and for the long stretch of a summer evening that follows.
