Nomos Glashütte Tetra Fidelio – a musical inspiration
The Nomos Glashütte Tetra Fidelio is part of a harmonious quartet. Four new colors for the Tetra collection in copper for Tetra Götterfunken (Divine Spark), olive green for Tetra Ode an die Freude (Ode to Joy), turquoise for Tetra Unsterbliche Geliebte (Immortal Beloved), and dark blue for Tetra Fidelio. All four pay tribute to a man that represents Made in Germany at it’s best – Ludwig van Beethoven – marking the 250th birthday of the famous classical composer.
The square stainless steel cases measure 29.5 x 29.5 mm in diameter and 6.5 mm thick. The front and back of the case are both in sapphire crystal, and the dials feature rhodium-plated hour and minute hands and small seconds subdials at 6 o’clock. All four versions come with a gray velour leather strap with matching gray stitching.
All four are powered by the NOMOS manual caliber Alpha, the tried-and-tested mechanical movement that power many of the manual watches from NOMOS Glashütte, with a 43-hour power reserve. They are all water resistant to 30 meters.
Fidelio was the only opera ever composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. This romantic drama was composed over a period of nearly 10 years, starting in 1805 and finished in 1814.
The libretto was inspired by an actual incident from the French Revolution, in which a woman dressed as a man was hired as a prison gaoler and managed to free her incarcerated husband.
