PEQUIGNET’s relationship with the Élysée Palace began in 2021, when the Manufacture was selected for the Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France, a showcase of the finest French craftsmanship held at the Presidential Palace itself. That encounter led to the 2023 launch of the Attitude Élysée, a 300-piece limited edition created in collaboration with the Presidency of the French Republic. Now the partnership continues with the Edition Liberté, limited to 100 individually numbered watches, with pre-orders opening symbolically on July 14, 2026, France’s National Day.
The dial celebrates blue, the color of Liberty, first principle of the Republic’s motto. Finished with a Clou de Paris guilloché style pattern, it shifts in character as the light moves across it, deep and saturated at one angle, luminous at another. White hands and a red seconds hand complete the tricolor composition, and the red stitching on the blue leather strap picks up that accent with quiet precision. The “RF” monogram of the Presidency appears in four places: on the dial, engraved on the crown, on the openworked oscillating weight visible through the sapphire caseback, and on the strap buckle.
Inside beats the Calibre Initial, a bidirectional automatic movement with a 65-hour power reserve, conceived, developed, and assembled entirely in Morteau, the historic cradle of French watchmaking. Components for PEQUIGNET’s five Manufacture movements are sourced within 80 kilometers of Morteau, and the Calibre Initial is 72% French made. A portion of proceeds supports the restoration of the Élysée Palace itself.
