The Brand

Tutima Glashütte

Tutima Glashütte’s history began in Glasshütte in 1927 and has survived many turmoils including the 1930s inflation crisis, World War II, nationalization and the quartz crisis of the 1970s. The company became famous making large quantities of pilot’s chronographs for the German military. The military demanded very stringent levels of quality. Each watch had to be resistant to shocks, be able to withstand pressures of up to 1.5 atmospheres for a duration of 90 minutes, have a performance rating of between -3 and+12 seconds, and work in temperatures ranging from -10 to +40 degrees Centigrade. Today, the company continues to create high-quality timepieces.
