OCEARCH partnership

Ulysse Nardin is a partner and supporter of the non-profit research organization OCEARCH. This organization works with researchers and educational institutions to better understand the movements and habits of sharks. OCREACH is leading the fight for shark conservation and research. Its goal is to provide the resources necessary to better understand the sharks’ role as an apex predator in the ocean’s ecosystem. They have mastered the art of observing a shark’s migratory route and the science behind their effect on marine life. OCREACH studies are vital to our understanding of the sea and prove that sharks are not bad guys when it comes to the oceans.

The Brand

Ulysse Nardin

The story of Ulysse Nardin started in 1846 when a young visionary watchmaking apprentice in Le Locle, Switzerland, decided to strike out on his own. Ulysse Nardin began by making precision marine chronometers. By the 1860s, his name was well known around the world for highly complicated watches, such as minute repeaters and pocket chronometers. The company made 3, rue du Jardin in le Locle it’s home in 1865, and Ulysse Nardin watches are still being manufactured in the same building today. Unfortunately, Ulysse Nardin died prematurely at the age of 53 years old.
