The DEFY Extreme Diver draws inspiration from the iconic DEFY reference A3648, a trailblazing timepiece introduced by ZENITH in 1969. This vintage model not only marked one of the earliest DEFY wristwatches but also pioneered the DEFY diver’s watch category. Renowned for its exceptional performance and fusion of style and substance, the A3648 remains a benchmark in watchmaking.

Continuing its tradition of revisiting historical milestones, ZENITH unveils the DEFY Revival A3648, marking the first revival of a vintage ZENITH diver’s watch. This contemporary rendition retains the distinctive angular stainless steel case, measuring 37mm in diameter, and the iconic fourteen-sided bezel positioned above a round rotating bezel.

The unidirectional rotating bezel features a sapphire crystal insert, a departure from historical models’ Plexiglas, with black on bright orange markings, echoing the A3648’s coveted design elements. The dial, in matte black, features orange hands and minutes track, complemented by white Super-LumiNova markers for enhanced visibility in low light conditions.

The DEFY Revival A3648 has a remarkable depth rating of 600 meters (60 ATM), a testament to its engineering prowess even in 1969. Symbolizing ZENITH’s heritage, this depth rating corresponds to 1,969 feet, the year of the DEFY wristwatch line’s inception.

Underneath its sapphire display back lies the Elite 670 automatic manufacture movement, offering a power reserve of 50 hours. The timepiece is presented on a five-link steel bracelet with a folding buckle, reminiscent of the iconic Gay Frères bracelet from the original reference. The deployant buckle features an expansion to accommodate wearing over a wetsuit, ensuring versatility for the modern adventurer.
