The 2023 relaunch of the ZENITH Pilot collection marks a significant update, blending elements from aviation history with modern design. ZENITH, a pioneer in aviation-related timepieces since 1904, maintains the core principles of durability, legibility, and intuitiveness in this new iteration. The collection moves beyond mere replication of historical designs, opting for a contemporary look while subtly referencing aviation. The first Boutique Edition features a deep blue color theme, a nod to ZENITH’s signature color and the night sky.
The Pilot Automatic Boutique Edition is notable for its 40 mm stainless steel case with a distinctive flat-top round bezel and an oversized, easy-to-operate crown designed for glove use. The textured dial, reminiscent of vintage aircraft fuselages, features large luminescent Arabic numerals and a unique hour marker at 6 o’clock, symbolizing an artificial horizon instrument. The dial, branded with “Pilot,” highlights ZENITH’s exclusive right to use this term.
This watch is powered by the El Primero 3620 movement, visible through the back, with a 60-hour power reserve. The movement includes a blackened oscillating weight that mimics an artificial horizon instrument. The Pilot Automatic Boutique Edition comes with interchangeable blue cordura-effect rubber and brown calfskin straps, equipped with a quick-release system for easy swapping without tools.
