Limited edition of 102 pieces
Additional brown alligator strap with pearly finish.
Audemars Piguet, a Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer, has collaborated with Haute Couture designer Tamara Ralph to create a 102 piece limited edition of the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon. This exclusive timepiece, presented on January 22, 2024, at Tamara Ralph’s runway show in Paris, reflects a blend of bold femininity, creativity, and timeless elegance, signature attributes of Ralph’s design ethos. Crafted in 18-carat pink gold, the watch features a Frosted Gold finish, a technique reinterpreted by jewelry designer Carolina Bucci and adopted by Audemars Piguet in 2016, giving the surface a sparkly effect akin to precious stones.
The watch boasts a multi-layered dial with colors transitioning from brown to bronze to gold, achieved through various finishing techniques, including galvanic treatment and lacquer. The flying tourbillon, a complex horological feature that counteracts gravity’s effects on the watch’s accuracy, is visible at 6 o’clock and is supported only from below, showcasing the movement’s artistry. The Royal Oak Concept series, which began in 2002 to commemorate the Royal Oak’s 30th anniversary, has since evolved into a platform for innovative designs and complications. The new Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph” Limited Edition continues this tradition, marrying the audacious design language of the collection with Tamara Ralph’s luxurious and imaginative Haute Couture style.
