Since its introduction in 1984, the Portofino collection has become one of IWC Schaffhausen’s most iconic lines, known for its clean and timeless design. The minimalist round case, Roman numerals, and simple hour markers contribute to its versatility.
At this year’s Watches and Wonders Shanghai 2024, IWC continues the Portofino legacy with the Portofino Chronograph 39 (Ref. IW391503). The watch pairs the classic Portofino design with a sporty chronograph complication and features a 39mm polished stainless steel case. The elegant appearance is enhanced by a silver-plated dial and rhodium-plated hands and markers. Notably, this model is the first in the Portofino Chronograph 39 series to be equipped with a 5-link stainless steel bracelet.
The bracelet’s brushed and satin-finished links create a modern, elegant look, and the quick-change system allows for easy swapping with other straps, such as Swiss calf leather, to match different styles or occasions.
The Portofino Chronograph 39 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69355 calibre, a reliable and precise chronograph movement composed of 205 parts. It features a column-wheel design, enabling time measurements of up to 30 minutes, and offers a 46-hour power reserve, with the mechanism viewable through the sapphire glass case back.
