To mark Chinese New Year on January 29, 2025, Perrelet launched the Turbine Snake, celebrating the Year of the Wood Snake. Representing wisdom, creativity, introspection, and mystery, the Wood Snake, associated with renewal and inner strength, promises a year of opportunities, peace, and harmony.
The Turbine Snake’s red lacquered sub-dial symbolizes luck and protection, enhanced by golden ideograms for prosperity. A gilded 3D snake rises above its coiled body, brought to life by the turbine mechanism. Its 12 black aluminum blades spin with wrist motion, gradually revealing the snake’s dynamic form. Rose gold-tone hands with Super-LumiNova® ensure nighttime readability, while red accents unify the dial, protected by sapphire crystal.
The patented turbine mechanism, introduced in 2009, demonstrates Perrelet’s watchmaking expertise. Though decorative, it demands precision assembly to ensure smooth motion and reset. The lightweight 41 mm case is made from titanium with a black DLC coating. Its ergonomic design integrates perfectly with the rubber strap, embossed with Perrelet’s logo and secured by a folding buckle.
At its heart lies the in-house P-331-MH calibre, delivering a 42-hour power reserve and certified by COSC and Chronofiable®. Visible through the sapphire case back, the movement features intricate finishes and the snake motif. Limited to 88 pieces, the Turbine Snake comes in a custom box, accompanied by certification documents.
