In contrast to the poetic naturalism of its enamel sibling, the Atmos Régulateur Wood Marqueterie explores a more architectural and graphic direction. Presented by Jaeger-LeCoultre at Milan Design Week 2026, this edition reinterprets the legendary Atmos through the lens of geometric design and material craftsmanship. The signature glass cabinet once again showcases the near-perpetual Calibre 582, powered by ambient air and temperature fluctuations.
The regulator layout remains central to the composition, offering a clean and precise reading of time. Hours, minutes and calendar indications are arranged in concentric displays, complemented by a highly accurate moon-phase complication. The movement’s openworked structure, with its suspended rings and visible mechanics, interacts dynamically with the decorative panels, reinforcing the sense of depth and spatial play.
The true statement lies in the marquetry work. Limited to five pieces, each clock features 52 ultra-thin wood veneers, primarily walnut, cut with micron-level precision and hand-tinted in a gradient of blues. Carefully assembled into a trompe-l’oeil pattern, the design creates an illusion of infinite depth, framed by rhodium-plated ribs that accentuate its geometry. Lacquered blue elements on the dial echo the tones of the panels, completing a cohesive aesthetic. It’s a contemporary take on a centuries-old craft, where Art Deco inspiration meets modern horological design.
